Corollary vs GPT-Rosalind and Rosalind Workbench

GPT-Rosalind is OpenAI's life-sciences model, for organisations that pass its trusted-access review, and Rosalind Workbench brings biology tools into ChatGPT and Codex. Corollary is open to anyone, free for non-commercial research, and runs models and pipelines for you.

The short answer

OpenAI's Rosalind has two parts. GPT-Rosalind is a language model trained for life-sciences work, available to organisations approved through OpenAI's trusted-access programme. Rosalind Workbench is a workspace in ChatGPT and Codex with biology tools, viewers and analysis workflows, and it also works with ordinary ChatGPT models. Its sequencing workflows run on your own machine through Codex.

Corollary is a hosted agent with a Linux machine of its own. Bioinformatics programs, nf-core pipelines and 145 open scientific models run for you, with no hardware of your own, and anyone can start without an application. It is a non-commercial research demonstration.

Choose Rosalind if your organisation is approved and wants a frontier model inside the ChatGPT it already uses, under enterprise terms. Choose Corollary to start today without vetting, with the computation done for you, free.

Side by side

What it is
CorollaryA research agent with a Linux machine of its own, and a library of open scientific models, programs, databases and pipelines it runs for you.
GPT-RosalindOpenAI's life-sciences model, GPT-Rosalind, and Rosalind Workbench, a workspace in ChatGPT and Codex for scientific tools, biology models and data-analysis workflows.[1][4]
How you use it
CorollaryIn the browser, with a free account or signed out. Nothing to install. Also a developer API and an MCP server.
GPT-RosalindThe model: approved organisations only, through OpenAI's trusted-access programme; individual access is described as coming soon. The Workbench: in the ChatGPT app or Codex, usable with your plan's ordinary models.[3][4]
Price
CorollaryFree. 30,000 credits a month with an account, 1,000 signed out; database queries never use credits.
GPT-RosalindAPI: $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens. In ChatGPT: 20 credits a message on eligible business plans. The Codex life-sciences and NGS plugins are open to all Codex users.[5][13][8]
Commercial use
CorollaryNot permitted. Corollary is a non-commercial research demonstration, with no warranty or support.
GPT-RosalindNot for customer-facing products or external commercial applications.[3]
Where the work runs
CorollaryOn our servers: a Linux machine per conversation, and jobs of up to 32 cores, 256 GiB of memory and 24 hours for long runs.
GPT-RosalindThe NGS plugin runs workflows on your own machine, where Codex runs. Large datasets stay in your own directory, database or storage.[9][3]
Scientific AI models
Corollary301 models in the library, 145 of them run here — GPU included, with no setup and no key of your own.
GPT-RosalindA life-sciences language model. The bundled AlphaFold skill reads the AlphaFold Database; a plugin from Boltz runs structure jobs on Boltz's service, with your Boltz account.[11][12]
Programs and pipelines
Corollary43 bioinformatics programs installed or run as jobs, and 143 nf-core pipelines.
GPT-RosalindSequencing workflows from FASTQ to variants, RNA-seq, single-cell, epigenomics, amplicon and metagenomics, preferring nf-core pipelines, which need Nextflow on your machine.[9][14]
Databases
Corollary53 public databases queried live, with no API key of your own.
GPT-RosalindMore than 50 public databases, literature sources and biology tools.[2]
Language model
CorollaryChosen and paid for by Corollary. No API key of your own.
GPT-RosalindGPT-Rosalind for approved organisations; otherwise your plan's ChatGPT models.[3]
Open source
CorollaryNo. The service is closed source; the models, programs and pipelines it runs are open.
GPT-RosalindThe model and the Workbench are closed. The Codex plugins are published on GitHub.[10]
Your files
CorollaryUploaded to our servers and kept in the conversation's workspace. Some of our processors are in the United States.
GPT-RosalindNo training on enterprise data by default, and BAAs for regulated enterprise workspaces. The academic plan offers no zero data retention.[3][7]

GPT-Rosalind's column is from its own public pages, read on 24 October 2026; the numbers link to them below. Corollary's figures are counted from the platform itself and each one links to the page that lists them.

Where GPT-Rosalind is the better choice

  • A model trained for life-sciences reasoning by a frontier lab, with customers such as Amgen and Moderna.[2]
  • Enterprise terms: BAAs, regulated workspaces, and no training on enterprise data by default.[3]
  • Your data can stay on your own machine or storage, with the model running targeted steps over it.[3]
  • US university labs can apply for up to 30 free seats for 12 months.[6]
  • It works inside ChatGPT and Codex, which many labs already use.[3]

Where Corollary is the better choice

  • Open to anyone today: no vetting and no organisation account — sign in, or don't, and ask.
  • The computation runs on our machines: 143 nf-core pipelines and 43 bioinformatics programs, not on your laptop.
  • 145 open scientific models, structure prediction included, run here with no GPU or third-party account of your own.
  • Free: 30,000 credits a month.

Try the same work on Corollary

Ask in plain language. The agent works on a Linux machine of its own: it installs and runs what the job needs, keeps every file, and reads the results back with the numbers explained.

Questions

Is Corollary a free alternative to GPT-Rosalind?

Corollary is free: 30,000 credits a month with an account, and database queries never use credits. It is a non-commercial research demonstration, so it is not an alternative for commercial work — for that, GPT-Rosalind or one of the other options below may be the right choice.

Can I use GPT-Rosalind as an individual researcher?

Not yet. The model is available to organisations approved through OpenAI's trusted-access programme, and individual access is described as coming soon. US university labs can apply through the Rosalind Academic Plan. Rosalind Workbench itself works with ordinary ChatGPT models.

Does GPT-Rosalind run AlphaFold?

OpenAI's bundled AlphaFold skill looks up predictions in the AlphaFold Database, and a plugin from Boltz runs structure jobs on Boltz's own service with your Boltz account. On Corollary, structure prediction models run with no GPU or account of your own.
